You will be guided through a gentle kinesthetic exploration, organized around basic daily functions, such as sitting, breathing, standing and walking.

ATM lessons are designed to help students deepen their understanding of how they move. You will be guided through a gentle kinesthetic exploration, organized around basic daily functions, such as sitting, breathing, standing and walking. You will embody new pathways of movement, regain ease and comfort, and improve your self-awareness. This somatic method promotes intrinsic learning. 


FAQs

  • This depends on how much you would like to learn. The method continues to unfold as you go along, and the possibilities are endless. That being said, the process is slow and subtle, and it might take you a few hours with me to absorb the language.

    Plan on taking around six Awareness Through Movement® lessons, or three Functional Integration® lessons, to get a feel for how the method works. Within this time, you will gather information and gain a clear understanding of your personal goals. This often means you have already begun to feel better.

  • You do not need any prior exposure to Feldenkrais before we begin our work together. However, it can be beneficial to read a bit about the method and see if it appeals to your way of learning.

    Please refer to my RESOURCES page for articles on the Feldenkrais Method®. Another great way to start is to sit in on one of my public classes.

  • A commitment to learning about yourself is all you need to gain the benefits of the Feldenkrais Method®. If you are curious and want to change how you move, think, feel and sense yourself in the world, then this is the right approach for you.

  • Awareness Through Movement® lessons are classes that are held in an informal group setting at a low cost. The community is made up of people from all walks of life that enjoy learning with others. Functional Integration® lessons are designed for individual needs and concerns, for those who desire accelerated learning, or for those who prefer a private setting for learning. You may attend just classes, or have only private lessons, or do a combination of both. I am happy to speak with you, if you are still unsure as to what might be the right fit for you.

  • Once you sign up for class, you will receive a Zoom link and information on how to join class. Please have a space to lie down (preferably a firm surface, with a thin blanket). Wear loose fitting clothing that will enable freedom of movement. Feel free to have your camera on or off.
